Head of Community & Affiliates

  • aesene is a women-owned, women-led athleticwear brand and community. Founded by sisters Lucy and Megan Davis, aesene was born from lived experience in sport and the strength of sisterhood. We exist to create performancewear that respects your body, your goals, and your pace. Every garment we design is informed by real athletic experience, tested in motion, and inspired by the women who move us.

    Role Purpose

    • To drive brand growth, awareness and distribution through community, creators, athletes, affiliates and strategic partnerships.
    • This person will be responsible for building and nurturing the relationships that help AESENE reach new audiences, deepen community engagement and create meaningful brand moments both online and in person.
  • Community & Ambassador Programme

    • Build and manage aesene's community and ambassador ecosystem.
    • Develop and scale a creator and ambassador programme that reflects the values of the brand.
    • Identify and recruit creators, athletes and community members who feel genuinely aligned with aesene.
    • Build and maintain a strong "Friends of the Brand" network.
    • Create opportunities for community engagement through race weekends, events and activations.


    Affiliate Strategy

    • Own and develop aesene's affiliate programme.
    • Recruit, onboard and manage affiliates.
    • Track programme performance and optimise for growth and customer acquisition.


    Creator & Athlete Relations

    • Manage long-term athlete partnerships.
    • Develop creator partnerships that drive awareness and community growth.
    • Build a pipeline of emerging talent and influential voices within women's sport and endurance culture.
    • Manage gifting, seeding and relationship development.


    Events & Brand Activations

    • Lead influencer, community and press events.
    • Develop strategies for product launches, race weekends and pop-up activations.
    • Create opportunities for community members, creators and partners to connect with the brand in person.


    UGC & Advocacy

    • Develop UGC strategies to increase social proof and community participation.
    • Create and manage creator briefs.
    • Oversee UGC collection and rollout across campaigns and launches.
    • A thriving affiliate programme generating measurable revenue.
    • A highly engaged ambassador network.
    • Strong strategic brand partnerships and collaborations.
    • Increased organic brand awareness and reach.

Product Developer (Performance)

  • aesene is a women's performance and lifestyle brand built for those who move with purpose. We create technical apparel designed to support ambitious goals, while reflecting the identity, confidence and individuality of the women who wear it.

    As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Product Developer to help shape the future of our performance product offering. This is an opportunity to join a small, ambitious team and play a key role in building a category-defining brand.

    We're looking for an experienced and highly technical product developer with a deep understanding of performance apparel.

    Working closely with our founders and designer you will lead the development process from concept through to production, helping bring innovative, functional and beautifully executed products to life.

    This role requires someone who is obsessed with detail, understands the demands of endurance sports, and thrives in a fast-moving startup environment.

    • Lead product development across performance apparel categories including running, training and endurance-focused products.
    • Translate design concepts into commercially viable, technically advanced products.
    • Manage development timelines from initial briefing through to production handover.
    • Work closely with factories and suppliers to develop fabrics, trims, finishes and construction techniques.
    • Drive fit, function and performance testing throughout the development process.
    • Build and maintain detailed tech packs and product specifications.
      Review prototypes and samples, providing clear technical feedback to suppliers.
    • Source and evaluate innovative fabrics and materials that align with brand and performance objectives.
    • Collaborate closely with design to ensure products deliver against both aesthetic and functional goals.
    • ⁠Identify opportunities to improve fit, quality, construction and manufacturing efficiencies.
    • Support product costing and margin targets throughout development.
    • Stay informed on industry innovation, emerging technologies and competitor product developments.
    • ⁠5+ years' experience in women’s technical apparel product development.
    • Strong background in women’s performance & portswear
      Deep understanding of garment construction, pattern cutting, fit and technical fabrics.
    • ⁠Experience developing highly functional products including pockets, storage systems, compression garments, race apparel and outerwear.
    • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and factory communication.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple development calendars simultaneously.
    • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
    • Ability to balance innovation, performance and commercial requirements.
    • Detail-oriented with exceptionally high standards.
    • Comfortable working within a startup environment where ownership and initiative are essential.

    Bonus Points

    • Background in endurance, running, training or cycling apparel.
    • Experience working with premium performance brands.
    • ⁠Existing relationships with leading fabric mills and suppliers.
    • ⁠Experience developing seamless, bonded or advanced technical constructions.
